Friday Oct 11, 2019
Richard and Adam are joined by Jennifer Steenbeek, a 3L student at Osgoode Hall Law School to address WLG2DWI's first listener voicemail from (now 1L) Serena! Richard and Adam venture far outside their expertise as they talk about being a parent in law school. Jenn shares her experience with her 3 year old daughter, revealing both the benefits and challenges of this responsibility.
Adam wonders if parents are friends with other parents. Richard thinks they should they have a new club. Jenn isn't sure who would have the time to run it. The group tries to come up with some advice for incoming parents like Serena. The gang discusses bringing your child to class or reading your papers to your kids.
Jenn and Adam prophesize about how being a parent already might help prepare a law student for the challenges of being a mother early in their law career. Finally, Richard opines about the quality of accomodations offered at law school for parents.
